The eco-lodging “El Manantial” is an unique spot, a secluded oasis in the middle of the jungle. Although the place looks like paradise, no many people know about its existence. It’s just one of those hidden gems.
Where is located?
What to expect?
El Manantial is a two-floor hut, a rustic retreat in the middle of the jungle. The four guestrooms are equipped with comfortable beds and private bathrooms. No AC is available though, according to the eco-standards (not that is needed, the temperature here is ideal). Each window in the house open onto gigantic ferns, mango and avocado trees. A natural pool coming from a spring it’s just one step away from the house, there comes the name “El manantial”.
The hosts, Oscar and Aray are very friendly and they cook delicious meals. Farm to table food is another great feature from this place. Everything you eat here is sustainable, organic produce from their farm. You can visit the garden and see the chickens and porks around.
What can I do here?
This is the perfect spot for relaxation. You can lay down on a hammock in a balcony, or in the porch while listening to the jungle sounds: the wind between the lift of the threes, the songs of dozens of birds, the water running from the spring. If you get hot you can cool off in the natural pool. Adventurous visitors can go hiking to one of the nearby lagoons or majestic waterfalls, such as La Batuta, Caburni, or Vegas Grandes.
El Manantial is the perfect getaway for nature lovers. You can spend 1 or 2 quite nights here if you want to get away from the hazzle; or just come for lunch while going on an excursion to Topes de Collantes.
You can book a room at El Manantial online through Booking.com.
